The ITRC provides a number of resources for faculty and some are also available to staff and students.
The ITRC maintains two multimedia editing stations available by reservation to all WVU faculty. Each station is equipped with both flatbed and slide scanners, image editing software, audio record and editing software, video capture equipment (supported input sources include vhs, dvd, laser disc, and digital camera), and video editing software. We can provide training on the use of the hardware or software needed to create your multimedia project. Reserve a time by completing the reservation form.
OIT hosts a number of media formats for web streaming on its Quicktime server. This service is limited to instructors teaching WVU online courses and the files hosted are to be components of those courses. You may request an account by filling out the streaming media request form.
Wimba is a web-based application designed to add audio interaction to your online course. OIT maintains a Wimba server that is available for use with WVU online courses. With your Wimba account you can create audio enabled e-mail, discussion boards, and chat sessions. In addition there are no plug-ins other than java required to be on the students computer. Wimba will also generate the code that can be copied and pasted into your html pages. To get your account, fill out request form.
